Teaching of Finnish at the University of Debrecen has, at least so far, suc-cessfully taken part in the Bologna Process. In the new curriculum, Finnish studies is a 50 ECTS module in Bachelor’s degree and has an own MA programme. In language teaching, above all, communicative skills are aimed at. Student theses are written mainly in the field of linguistics. In the surrounding society, Finnish language and culture are frequently presented and valued highly.
